National Cornbread FestivalChili, fried chicken, and cabbage all make good cornbread companions.  As a matter of fact, it’s hard to think of something that doesn’t taste better with it.  That said, the National Cornbread Festival might quite possibly be heaven on Earth.  The festival’s “Cornbread Alley” features 9 different types of cornbread with flavors including bacon ranch, chipotle, and honey vanilla.  If your passion is extreme, participate in the Cornbread Eating Contest.  Just so you don’t burn out, the festival also includes arts and crafts, a carnival, a classic car show, a pancake breakfast, a tour of the area’s historic homes, the crowning of the Festival Queen, and plenty more to help you burn off all of the cornbread that you ingest.
